COOKEVILLE, Tennessee – Ronnie Reels, owner of ReelSound Productions, relied on his new HARMAN’s Soundcraft Si Compact 32 digital console for numerous musical artists at the multi-day Muddy Roots Music Festival in Cookeville, Tennessee. Reels used the Si Compact 32 as the front-of-house console for the event, for which he mixed 30 different acts.

The Muddy Roots Music Festival marked the first time that Reels used the Si Compact 32 and he only had positive things to say about it. Reels had been a longtime fan of Soundcraft and decided to make the transition to a digital system. The Si Compact 32 made Reels’ transition easy, as Reels noticed similarities between other HARMAN and Studer products that he had used before. After using the Si Compact 32 at the Muddy Roots Festival, Reels stated, “It’s already my favorite console, I love it. The learning curve is very short for this console.”

When dealing with large festivals with multiple acts, numerous transitions need to be executed within short periods of time. “The console worked wonderfully, the sonic quality was awesome and the pre-amps are not harsh even when driven hard,” stated Reels. “The compressors and gates sounded great, better than any console I’ve ever dealt with.”

Other issues that posed challenges including temperatures reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit and heavy rain. The Si Compact 32, however, survived beautifully. “Without the Si Compact, I’m not sure what would have happened,” Reels said. “It ended up being a great weekend and I look forward to using it more and more.”

HARMAN’s JBL EON515XT Portable Loudspeakers Help Spread The Message Of New America Singers

The New America Singers travel the world with the help of JBL EON515XT portable loudspeakers.

NORTHRIDGE, California – The New America Singers have been spreading their message throughout the world with the help of HARMAN’s JBL EON515XT speakers. Founded in the late 1960s, the performing group has brought people together, sharing ideas, experiences and thoughts and building future leaders out of their members. What originated as a simple social gathering soon became a way for all people to become inspired through the bond of music, dance and drama. In an effort to extend their reach the group started to explore different venues and organizations including public schools, military bases, and international conferences worldwide. The New America Singers tailor their performances to these diverse audiences and feature popular secular music, religious and patriotic music all with the intent of communicating the positive message of spirituality, hard work and commitment. The group has taken their ministry around the world to places as diverse as Asia, Europe, North America, Russia, Africa and even Australia.

When Chris Campbell joined New America Singers in 1992, he started working on the technology and production side of the project, giving the group more definition and style. “Everyone ‘digs’ music, it was easy to incorporate our message with sounds that touch everyone,” said Chris Campbell, Founder/Director, New America Singers.

Based out of three locations in California each consisting of a team of about 30 kids, the group needs to hit the road with little baggage. Traveling on a bus for six weeks and performing between four to 10 shows per day, it was imperative that the speakers provide maximum impact with minimal size and weight.

The JBL EON515XT portable loudspeaker was the perfect match for the group providing ample Crown power and pristine JBL quality sound. Chris purchased them the first year they were on the market and fell in love with the quality, performance and durability. “Nobody has connected with these speakers like we have” he explained, “being lightweight with accessible handles makes them easy for a 15-year-old boy or girl to carry around, even up hills! And because they’re self-powered, the EON515XT eliminates the need for an external amplifier, which means less equipment and faster set-up times. They’ve been so reliable we’ve purchased multiple pairs for all of our locations and now we simply trust that our audiences hear the best performance that we can deliver.”

“The mini photo book is the perfect size to pull out of your purse or bag to show your photos and share memories with friends and family,” said Flora Bell , photo system business development manager, Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America. “The Mitsubishi Photobook Maker is the new way to print photos and the kiosk is quick, and convenient, especially with the ability to pull photos right from your Facebook page.”

The kiosk offers a high-margin add-on service for photo retailers, bookstores, entertainment venues and convenience stores. The cost for a mini photo book starts at $4.99, and there are several layout options to customize the book. mitsubishi-imaging.com
