Securitron M380 Magnalock Wins Big at ISC West 2013

Phoenix, AZ — The M380 Magnalock from Securitron, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, took home the Best of Locks, Safes and Hardware award from the Security Industry Association’s 2013 New Product Showcase (NPS) at ISC West earlier this month.

Setting a new standard for maglocks, the new intelligent M380 Magnalock provides up to 600 lbs. holding force in a compact, stylish way. With a built in, auto voltage-sensing microprocessor along with an integrated camera and PIR, the M380 provides the utmost functionality to the market.

The M380 is not only efficient in size, with a low profile for improved aesthetics and optimization for use with door closers, but it is also operationally energy conscious with low power usage. The series also features an adjustable automatic relock timer and is complete with Securitron’s BondSTAT lock bond sensor.

ASSA ABLOY Announces Strategic Partnership with Lenel Systems for Aperio Wireless Devices

NEW HAVEN, Conn., April 16, 2013 – ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions, announces a strategic partnership with leading access control hardware provider Lenel, to integrate ASSA ABLOY’s line of Aperio™ wireless locking devices with the Lenel OnGuard® platform.

The Aperio integration will provide Lenel customers with an easy, affordable way to connect additional openings to their existing systems. Aperio is a global wireless platform available across a broad range of locking hardware from ASSA ABLOY Group brands, offering the flexibility to address a variety of applications throughout any facility.

In addition to Aperio, IP-enabled WiFi and Power over Ethernet locks from ASSA ABLOY Group brands, Corbin Russwin and SARGENT, are also integrated with the Lenel OnGuard platform. The IP-enabled locks have been part of the Lenel Open Access Alliance Program (OAAP), a program open to manufacturers interested in developing software interfaces to the Lenel OnGuard platform, since June 2012. This integration provides an innovative solution, which allows facilities to leverage existing network infrastructure for simple, cost-effective expansion of their access control systems.

For additional flexibility, Integrated Wiegand locks from Corbin Russwin and SARGENT are also compatible with all Lenel platforms. SARGENT Harmony Integrated Wiegand locks are also available with 5502 output format for seamless integration with Lenel’s Micro Controllers and DirecDoor access control hardware.

Traka Showcases Its Latest Standalone Touch Screen Key Management System At ISC West 2013

Traka Touch is a standalone key management solution that operates independently of a company’s IT system via an embedded Windows software and SQL Server database. No server is required to maintain its database. The system is managed via the full color 7-inch multi-language touch screen on the front panel, from the initial administrative setup of users and keys to the management of day-to-day user access.

As with conventional Traka systems the Touch gives the administrator control over the access levels for each particular user. To gain access to keys, users must identify themselves using either a PIN code, swipe card or biometric recognition. LEDs indicate which keys a user can and can’t take when they access the cabinet.

The Traka Touch provides a real time audit of all key transactions and the unit’s solid state memory can store up to 250,000 events. Administrators can view a report of all key usage and search for a key that is “out of system” via the touch screen.

“The new Traka Touch is a secure, cost-effective means of ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to keys, while making them readily available to authorized users 24/7. It is not always feasible for organisations to allow access to IT infrastructures and networks and Traka Touch addresses this” said Danny Garrido, General Manager, Traka US.
