SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech is kicking off its October e-pedal introductions with the debut of its Vanishing Point Modulated Delay for the iStomp downloadable stompbox. Vanishing Point gives guitarists the sound of high-end rack delays that lightly modulate the sound of the repeats after they delay – along with a host of additional sonic possibilitites.

“Many guitarists run a chorus pedal after their delay to add that rich, textured ‘swirl’ to their sound,” said Scott Klimt, marketing manager, DigiTech. “However, the Vanishing Point is much more controllable in that only the delay repeats are modulated while the dry sound is untouched. This seemingly subtle feature makes a big difference in the ability to control the expressiveness of both clean and overdriven sounds when playing single notes and chords.”

The Vanishing Point Modulated Delay can add shimmer to clean chordal work or a touch of animation to overdriven guitar solos. Vanishing Point can provide up to two seconds of true stereo delay, and its Tap Tempo feature enables the musician to tap the footswitch to sync the delay speed with the tempo of the music. Vanishing Point offers controls for Delay (delay time), Repeats (number of repeats), Mod (degree of modulation) and Level (effect level).

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store. Offering almost limitless sonic possibilities, the iStomp connects to an Apple iOS device where musicians can use the Stomp Shop app to load it with the e-pedal of their choice. The Stomp Shop is a free app and comes with two of the most popular requested pedals, the DigiTech Total Recall Delay™ and the DigiTech Redline Overdrive™. It gives access to more than 30 additional pedals that musicians can browse, try out and purchase, with more pedals added every month.

The DigiTech Vanishing Point Modulated Delay e-pedal will be available in October 2012 at an introductory price of $0.99. This introductory price will run through October 31, 2012. After the introductory period the price will change to $9.99.

The DigiTech iStomp is currently available at $149.95 suggested retail.

Working to focus the spotlight on the true artistry of hip hop, curator and artist herself, Miz Metro has combined visual works of art with classic rap tracks and remixes in her gallery, The Art of Rap: Remixed and Mastered.  Inspired by the Ice-T documentary, The Art of Rap, the New York City gallery features hip hop centric graffiti art and photos by renowned artists Shirt King Phade, Jamel Shabazz and Ryan Keeley. Utilizing HARMAN’s AKG K702 headphones, the gallery comes alive with newly remixed sounds by Keith Shocklee.

The idea: create an abstract visual version of hip hop and combine it with actual music to maximize the feeling and understanding for an all-encompassing experience.  Working together with Miz Metro, Shocklee put together four mixes sampled from Public Enemy’s album Fear of a Black Planet.  Shocklee’s gallery remixes are titled: The Hard Rhymer, Planet Black, Stolen Sole and Power of the Flight.

“This isn’t your regular gallery elevator music,” said Shocklee, a founding member of The Bomb Squad and Public Enemy. “Using classic, original hip hop and remixing it to fit the theme of the gallery is another way of branding art.  We can give it a 3D feel.  With the added music, the artists have an entirely new way of showcasing their masterpieces.”

“I want the gallery’s visitors to actually enjoy the full experience and purchase our work, hopefully sampling it in their own pieces,” commented Miz Metro.  “Our visitors are continually impressed with the music selection; it’s truly inspiring.”

In fact, in one instance, a music enthusiast actually took it upon herself to lift the iPod and the AKG K702’s to walk around the gallery listening to the tracks.  She was completely taken back by the quality of the art and continued to enjoy the exhibits, even though the music portion was supposed to stay at its specific area in the gallery. “How could you get angry at that? She was lost in the sound,” joked Miz Metro.

“All of the pieces are falling into place for the gallery; the sound art is crazy,” continued Shocklee.  “I stand by AKG because it’s vital to the music world when recording and listening.  AKG was the standard in the studio when I was coming up and I trust their sound.  When I was looking for the perfect channel to showcase my sound art, I didn’t even bother looking for anything other than the K702’s.”

“The Art of Rap: Remixed and Mastered is a fantastic project, where visitors experience a completely new level of art,” commented Joseph Wagoner, project manager, wireless-tours-install, AKG.  “The precision and quality of the K702’s will ensure the gallery continues to stun.  Keith, Miz Metro and the entire team have really outdone themselves and AKG is proud to be a part of the gallery as it continues touring the United States.”

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands – With a continued focus on improving the quality of performance in professional audio/video markets, HARMAN’s AKG has unveiled the latest additions to its professional broadcast headsets – the condenser microphone models HSC 171 and HSC 271 and dynamic microphone models HSD 171 and HSD 271.  Ideal for broadcast engineers, sports and news commentators, voice-over and recording artists, the latest line meets the high demand for efficient and reliable equipment in the industry with seasoned AKG ingenuity.

“HARMAN’s AKG HSC and HSD headsets incorporate features that have been directly requested by professional users, and offer excellent comfort, optimum ambient noise reduction and outstanding audio quality,” said Thomas Stubics, product marketing manager – recording and broadcast, AKG.  “We’ve designed the HSC and HSD with comfort and usability in mind and each set will offer reliable service across the board.”

All four models have a closed-back earpiece design for high ambient noise attenuation and signal isolation. The HSC 271 and HSD 271 are circum-aural (around ear) and the HSC 171 and HSD 171 are supra-aural (on ear) designs. All have a detachable cable – if a cable becomes defective under the stress of day-to-day use, it can be quickly replaced without any tools.

Recognized as “Best of Show” by Pro Sound News at NAB 2012 in the US, each headset has a flexible microphone arm that moves through a 270-degree arc and automatically mutes the mic as it’s moved up, eliminating the need for a mute button. The HSC 271 and HSD 271 also feature automatic headphone muting once they are lifted from the user’s head. The microphone can be worn to the left or the right of the wearer’s mouth, and the microphone is shock mounted to attenuate mechanical noise and protect the capsule from damage.

All the headsets are compatible with a choice of optional available cables and connector types, for use in the studio, broadcast booth or on the field, with consoles, computers, camcorders, intercoms or other devices.
